wrote his first song when he was 17 and collaborated with two other students to write music and record it for a Senior English project. Born in Baytown, Texas and raised in many parts of the country, he was exposed to a wide variety of people and music. Bob learned to play the guitar while stationed in North Carolina at Pope Air Force Base and was greatly influenced by the Bluegrass scene that helped shape his style. Other influences came from the many musicians from all walks of life that shared the same Barracks. He traveled to many parts of the world and took his Sigma sunburst guitar with him everywhere.

While in Germany, He had the opportunity to play at several parties with local musicians. These musicians each had unique styles and many of them only spoke German and none of them spoke Texan. Music, however, is the universal language. He also met his wife there, Kim, who was assigned to a weather squadron in Heidelberg. Kim is also a native Texan, from Lampasas.

Bob had the privilege to co-found his first band with friend and cohort Lindsay Rash. Together they shared the stage with some of the finest musicians in this great state. Robert Frith, Lucky Boyd, Smokey Wilson, Brian Burns, Bobby Mitchell, Big John Mills, Hayes Carll, Leslie Doak, Willie B & Joey D, Jarrod Birmingham, Smythe & Taylor, and HighSpeed Hayride to name just a few. Let us not forget the members of Rband Dale Green, Dan Dehart, Amos Garcia, Tom Abell, Peter Stauber, David Bennett, and Kelly Reiman. All of these musicians had a profound effect on him.

Some of Bob's musical heroes include the likes of famed flat picker Tony Rice , Texas Slinger Stevie Ray Vaughan, and his dad Bob Sr. who had the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall with the Angelina Chamber Singers.

You are the music while the music lasts. ~ T.S. Elliot ~
